Get Involved with a WCBA Committee
The Will County Bar Association encourages all members to consider joining one or more of our committees. Committees play an important role in shaping the programs, services, and initiatives offered by the Association. Your ideas, experience, and perspective can help strengthen the WCBA and better serve our members and the legal community.
Committee members are asked to actively participate by attending committee meetings, which are generally held on a quarterly basis, sharing their opinions and ideas, and assisting with planning, recommendations, and decision-making related to the committee’s goals and activities.
Whether you are a new attorney looking to become more involved or a seasoned practitioner wanting to help guide the Association, we welcome your participation.

CLE Committee
- Oversees Sections and holds an annual meeting with Section Chairs.
- Plans and delivers continuing legal education programming.
- At or near the beginning of each calendar year, the CLE Committee shall set the schedule for the MCLE seminars that must include a total of 15 MCLE credit hours that include at least 1.5 hours of mental health/substance abuse, 1 hour of diversity/inclusion, and 1 hour of ethics, civility, professionalism, sexual harassment prevention.

Communications Committee
- Leads organizational communications, marketing, technology tools, and member-facing messaging.

Community Outreach/Service Committee
- Coordinates community service initiatives and outreach efforts.

Diversity Committee
- Promotes and fosters a culture of belonging through professional development, mentorship, and inclusion of all sex, race, age, religion, handicap, sexual orientation, or national origin.
- The chair serves as the Association’s representative to work directly with the other Will County Organized Bar Associations, as that term is defined herein, to network, support and sponsor events that are consistent with and in furtherance of the WCBA’s mission as stated in these bylaws.

Enterprise Committee
- Oversees Traffic Safety School and Parenting Class.

Finance Committee
- Oversees budgeting, financial management, investments, and long-term financial planning, including coordination with the Bar Foundation.
- The Finance Committee shall provide a budget for the following fiscal year at the last Board of Director’s meeting before each new fiscal year

Governance Committee
- Responible for board structure, bylaws and policy review, board development, onboarding, and evaluation

Membership Committee
- Focuses on member recruitment, engagement, mentorship, the overall member experience, and shall oversee the Association’s Young Lawyers Association.

- Leads planning and execution of core social and networking events

Past Presidents Committee
- Provides institutional guidance through knowledge of the past
- Provides strategic advice to the President
- Can be assigned special projects by the Board of Directors
- Promotes continued community development
