Looking for a summer job that feels less like a “job” and more like a career? Castle Law is looking to hire two Law Clerks to join its summer law clerk program in our Joliet office with the ability to continue part-time during the school year.
With practice areas including commercial and residential real estate, estate planning, probate, litigation, zoning, and corporate law, you are sure to find you niche!
The in-person program will run from May 2026 to August 2026, has flexible scheduling, many networking events, dedicated mentors, and a team of experienced attorneys and paralegals to guide you to success.
Requirements:
- Candidates must be attending law school or be recent law school graduates
- Ready to learn
- Able to work with a team and perform duties solo
- No prior experience required

ASSISTANT U.S. ATTORNEY
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Illinois is hiring an Assistant U.S. Attorney in its Appellate Division. The position may be located in any of the district’s four offices: Urbana, Springfield, Peoria, or Moline. The attorney selected for this position will work on direct and post-conviction appeals involving the full range of criminal cases that the District prosecutes. Appellate AUSAs draft briefs and present oral arguments on constitutional, statutory, evidentiary, and procedural issues in appeals arising from the Criminal Division. Appellate AUSAs also review briefs drafted by their colleagues and participate in moot courts to prepare AUSAs for oral arguments. In addition, Appellate AUSAs assist with complex district court litigation and provide advice to other prosecutors on significant legal issues.

The Role
You’ll handle the daily operations at the downtown Joliet Office. You’ll be the first voice clients hear, keep our cases organized and moving forward, and deliver the high-quality service our clients expect.
Your Responsibilities
- Answer phones and communicate professionally with clients
- Manage case calendars and diary future court dates
- Draft / file court documents, handle client correspondence, and maintain electronic case files, via scanning and organizing paper and electronic discovery
- General administrative support for a two-attorney practice
What We’re Looking For
- Prior legal experience or court clerk experience strongly preferred
- Computer savy – we utilize cloud based-software in every aspect of the practice
- Additional consideration given to bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates

- At least five years’ experience as a legal assistant/paralegal with litigation emphasis required
- Experience with state and federal court electronic filing systems, appellate filing, document management systems, and legal software (Clio is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
